::
Food

Agamura persica feed on a variety of insects in the wild. When they're held in captivity they can be fed on different insects that are found here. Appropriate prey items for Agamura persica are: house crickets, waxworms (and the moths) and a variety of insects found outside such as spiders and sow bugs or wood-louse. (House)crickets are availiable in different sizes. Normally from size 3 to size 8. The size of the cricket that is appropriate for the gecko, depends on the size of the gecko. The cricket shouldn't be longer then the width of the geckos head. Also mealworms can be part of the diet of Agamura persica, but don't feed too much of them. They've got a hard shell and are hard to digest for the geckos  Overfeeding mealworms can result in vomitting.
Waxworms should also be fed modestly. They contain lots of fat and sugar and the Agamura can even become addicted to these worms.

I feed adult Agamura persica every other day and dust the prey-items every other time with calcium and "Miner-All I". This is a vitamin and mineral preparation with calcium and vitamin d3 in the right dosage. However, don't use this preparation when you provide your animals with daylight.
When female Agamura persica get more calcium then they need, they store it in socalled endolymphatic calcium sacs¹. When they store calcium in it, it's visible as a bulge on both sides of the neck.

:: Water

Agamura persica obtain a lot of necessary water out of their preys. However, this is not enough for the geckos to meet their entire needs. Therefore you need to spray the enclosure of the Agamura once a week. A silk-screen plant in the enclosure provides a surface for water to collect for the geckosto drink.
Never spray the geckos when it's visible that they're going to shed. The old,  loose skin will stick to the gecko and he will have a hard time getting it of. Sometimes the gecko won't be able to get it of and you then need to help him, causing him a lot of stress.
Also as a precaution, keep a water dish in the enclosure. Agamura rarely use a dish to drink from, but when the geckos are in need of water, it's always available. Don't forget to refresh the water every day.
